CBSL publishes inaugural Monetary Policy Report
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) published its first Monetary Policy Report (MPR) on July 31. The MPR aims to improve transparency in monetary policy and engage stakeholders by sharing information considered by the Monetary Board in formulating policy decisions.
It assesses inflation and other macroeconomic variables based on current domestic and global developments. The report also evaluates risks to inflation and economic growth projections, clarifying the Monetary Board's thinking.
The MPR will be published in January and July each year, updating medium-term projections and enhancing the transparency and accountability of the Central Bank's monetary policy-making process.
It complements existing communication channels, including press releases, conferences, and official website updates.
