Agrahara overdue settled

The National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) Chairperson, attorney Sagala Abhayawickreme, announced that the NITF has successfully paid its beneficiaries the overdue Agrahara insurance scheme payments.

The NITF took steps to expedite the process and address delays in paying insurance, including designating Mondays as a public day for Agrahara beneficiaries to submit their issues to the Chairperson personally.

Abhayawickreme stated that two-thirds of the complaints filed by beneficiaries had been reviewed and resolved, with most delayed payments settled.

The remaining payments will also be settled in the coming weeks. Despite the ongoing economic crisis, the NITF is working to resume operations and ensure that no inconvenience is caused to beneficiaries.

The Agrahara insurance scheme covers around 1.8 million public servants in Sri Lanka, except for those in the armed forces, and the NITF is committed to providing benefits to them to the best of its capacity.
