Sabry’s visit to Iran: Iran, Sri Lanka seek closer ties

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry's visit to Iran was met with a warm reception by his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian. In a joint press conference, Amir Abdollahian described the visit as a significant turning point in Iran-Sri Lanka relations. 

 

 

The two foreign ministers engaged in discussions concerning cooperation on regional and international matters, with plans to enhance ties in trade, tourism, science, and culture. 

 

 

The ministers explored new potential agreements and emphasized the implementation of existing ones. The exchange of prisoners was also on the agenda. 

 

 

Amir Abdollahian highlighted Iran's commitment to collaboration with fellow Asian nations, fostering friendly and constructive partnerships. Minister Sabry appreciated the excellent and amicable relations between Sri Lanka and Iran.
