NPP’s 31 July protest march banned in several Colombo areas

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court issued an order preventing a group, including Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna-led National People's Power (NPP), and Tilvin Silva, its Secretary, from staging demonstrations in certain areas in Colombo. 

 

 

The order was in effect from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on a specific date. It was issued based on information received about a planned protest march, as presented by the Colombo Fort Police.
