Dear Children, this article is based on the attribute of following traditions, rules and regulations. This quality plays a role of paramount significance in building a society that is instilled with good citizens. 

When people obey and follow the traditions, rules, regulations and practice good manners, the well-being and the harmony of the society are established. Let’s get a brief understanding on some key aspects; traditions, law, rules, regulations, customs and manners.

 

 

The traditions are the social standards that have been inherited from the past and different groups of people follow these for a long period of time. Traditions followed by people belonging to various cultural backgrounds are different and they give people a sense of belonging. Traditions can also be followed as an institute, organization or a nation. For example, respecting elders has been a tradition that has been followed by us from the past. A system of rules imposed by the government to safeguard peace and establish social security in the society can be cited as law in a country. All the citizens are treated equally and fairly before law, where if these rules are violated, the individuals involved will receive a punishment. Thus, it controls the behavior of people to assure the safety of everyone. Regulations are conditions that control social behavior, where both rules and regulations play a massive role in ensuring a proper administration of a country. Customs can be elucidated as an accepted way of behavior or beliefs that are being followed by a set of people traditionally for a long time. (Example: religious rituals, polite speech and etc.). Manners include the proper ways of behavior especially when in public and a well-mannered person is highly respected in the society. For example, we should refrain from digging the nose and chewing nails. These manners help to uplift one’s standards and dignity by ensuring that the others are comfortable by his/her presence.   

It is important to follow traditions and obey the rules and regulations, in order to be good, responsible citizens in a country. When people follow traditions, the family bonds get strong and it gives people a source of identity. Traditions teach social values while helping to safeguard and pass on one’s heritage to the future generations. It will inculcate peace, harmony, mutual trust and coexistence in the society. When people abide by the rules and regulations appropriately, it helps to build a united and a peaceful society that is free from fear and confusion. It will lead to the birth of virtuous citizens who will be an asset to the society. All in all, traditions, rules and regulations will  ensure the development and the well-being of the society.
