Alleged ‘JVP-Alles-European isle’ deal
The ruling Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has called for an impartial investigation into allegations that the opposition Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) invested money in a European island with Public Security Minister Tiran Alles.
The SLPP emphasized the need for legal action regardless of party affiliation. Duminda Nagamuwa of the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP), a former JVP member, made the accusation.
Alles, a Cabinet Minister in the SLPP-led government, complained to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and an investigation is underway.
Nagamuwa challenged the JVP to address the issue in Parliament and revealed alleged investments with Alles.
