Anura Yapa to lead Lanza's alliance

Parliamentarian Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, a former minister, is expected to be appointed leader of a new political alliance. This alliance is being formed by Nimal Lanza and other Members of Parliament who operate independently from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP). 

 

 

It is claimed that they have the support of around 40 independent MPs. The new alliance aims to extend its support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The alliance's head office will be established in Rajagiriya in the coming days.
