Two departments removed from Sarath Weerasekara

An extraordinary gazette notification was issued last Thursday stating that two departments under the purview of Minister Sarath Weerasekara have been removed from his purview.

The President stated that the two departments were transferred to the Ministry of Defense under Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

The Department of Civil Defense and the Multipurpose Development Task Force have been taken over by the Ministry of Defense and only the Sri Lanka Police and the National Police Academy are under the Ministry of Public Defense.
