Maximum retail price for rice

Next week, the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture will reach an agreement with the owners of rice mills to reduce the current price of rice in the market and set a maximum retail price for rice.

The government intends to reduce the maximum retail price of red and white raw rice to Rs. 94 per kg, Nadu rice to Rs. 96 per kg, Samba rice to Rs. 105 per kg and Kiri Samba rice to Rs. 138 per kg.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Trade states that the current price of rice will be significantly reduced.
