Former Member of Parliament Jayantha Ketagoda refuses to be a diplomat

Former Member of Parliament Jayantha Ketagoda has politely rejected a proposal to appoint Australia as Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

 

Jayantha Ketagoda, who resigned from his National List seat and was given the opportunity to appoint Basil Rajapaksa as a Member of Parliament, said that he had received a number of allowances from the President, the Prime Minister and the new Minister of Finance, Basil Rajapaksa, but he had also rejected those allowances.

 

He further stated that he does not expect anything in return and will continue his political journey in support of Basil Rajapaksa.
