A married man commits suicide because his casual girlfriend did not respond to his call

Herath, a 20-year-old married man who worked as a cashier at a spice company in Maliyadda, Udupussellawa, has committed suicide after his girlfriend did not answer his phone call.

Maharagama Police said that the deceased had been having an affair with his girlfriend who had come to the company where he was working for a few months and then she had gone abroad and had not responded to the man's phone calls at that time.

The victim had hanged himself while staying at a house in Godigamuwa and his body was taken to the Kalubowila Hospital for postmortem examination.
