7 arrested for fuel robbery on Central Expressway

The Gonahena Police Special Task Force (STF) has raided a vehicle used by a Chinese company to plunder vehicles used for construction on the Central Expressway.

The raid revealed that fuel had been pumped from the vehicles to an oil tank mounted on the back of a cab. Seven suspects and five other vehicles were arrested along with a bowser filled with fuel during the raid.

The vehicles and suspects arrested by the STF have been handed over to the Veyangoda Police for further investigations.
