Vaccinated tourist encouraged to visit Sri Lanka

Vaccinated tourist encouraged to visit Sri Lanka

Tourists are encouraged to get vaccinations and take PCR test upon arrival. Tourists are also required to fork out US$12 for insurance that will cover up to US$50,000 in Covid-19 related medical costs.

The Tourism authorities are closely looking at the Indian market and according to Kimarl Fernando chairperson of the Tourist Board a arrangement for a travel bubble agreement is underway.

Indian couples will be invited to have their weddings in  travel bubble settings in Sri Lanka.     Sri Lanka’s plan is to set up niche market products that blend work with pleasure.

‘individuals can visit Sri Lanka for a conference and then go on a safari in Yala, go whale watching and visit a tea plantation, all in a day if domestic flights are used to travel around the country” Kimarli Fernando said. Qatar Airways, Emirates, and several other airlines currently operate repatriation and transit flights. National carrier SriLankan Airlines has also been flying on a limited schedule.
