Tokyo 2020: Aniqah comes in second place in the heats. Failure to advance to the semifinals

Aniqah Gaffoor of Sri Lanka failed to make the semifinals of the women's 100m butterfly event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

With a time of 1:05:33, Aniqah came in second place in heat 1 of the event, which took place earlier today. Her timing, however, was insufficient to qualify her for the semifinals, as only the top 16 swimmers will advance to the finals.

Aniqah’s timing was ranked 32 out of the 33 completed in the heats.
