Train derails near Colombo Fort station

The ‘Pulathisi’ Intercity Express train, which was travelling from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort, derailed near the Colombo Fort Railway Station this morning, the Railways Department said.

 

They said that the train derailed near Platform 9 at the Colombo Fort Railway Station, and efforts to restore it to the tracks have already commenced.
