What next after UNHCR defeat

Sri Lanka is seemed to heading towards a defiant stance after been defeated at the UNHCR. Sri lanka has already received a loan in the form of currency exchange with China under a 10 billion Yuan (about $1.5 billion).

Undoubtedly Sri Lanka will move closer to China and this mare cause tensions with India due to the pressure from Tamilnadu and strained relations with China.

 

UN

 

The UN will appoint legal advisors to monitor Sri Lanka and they will work with small office of about 12 employees who will be on alert of the human rights situation of Sri Lanka.

 

The United Nations (UN) says it would require more funds to implement the resolution on Sri Lanka an additional one-time requirement of $2,856,300.   Legal advisors will lead the team to work within the frame work of international criminal justice and oversee an information and evidence collection strategy and victim support matters.
This may be seen as meddling with affairs of a sovereign country by some in the Colombo administration.
