SL plans to import Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine

The Sri Lankan government is planning to use the single-shot Johnson & Johnson  coronavirus vaccine for the country's inoculation driver, said the State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID-19 Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle on March 17.

 

She added that the country has seen a drop in the Coronavirus positive cases, adding that the government is looking into procuring other brands of coronavirus vaccines.

 

Accordingly, the Chairman of State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) has informed Pfizer Inc. to send the relevant documents to register the vaccine in Sri Lanka.
