Two gazette notifications for the maximum retail price of a domestic gas cylinder

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) said in a gazette notification that the maximum retail price for gas cylinders will be effective from yesterday.

Although the maximum retail price of an 18 liter (9.6 kg) domestic gas cylinder containing LPG has been announced as Rs. 1,150, it is stated that the relevant prices may vary at the district level.

Another gazette notification has been issued making it mandatory to indicate the weight of a domestic gas cylinder in kilograms in a clearly visible place in the cylinder.

A gazette notification issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority states that the manufacture, storage, distribution, wholesale and retail sale of gas cylinders is prohibited unless the weight is stated in kilograms.
