The meeting took place in India House, Colombo 3, at the invitation of the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. Dr. Rakesh Panday, the Indian High Commission's Head of Economic and Commercial Wing, was also present at the conference.
The expansion of bilateral trade between India and Sri Lanka would boost socio-economic stability between the two friendly nations, according to High Commissioner Baglay, who added that India would like to warmly cooperate with Sri Lanka and the SLPA to improve container and maritime connectivity.
At the meeting, there was also more debate about the significance of launching a regional cruise liner service in the ISC region.
