Mahara Prison Riot : 6 killed and 35 injured

Six individuals have been killed during the unrest at the Mahara Prison, yesterday (Novemeber 30).

The Director of the Ragama Hospital stated that 43 individuals who sustained injuries were admitted to the hospital.

The unrest occured last evening at the Mahara prison, as several inmates made attempts to escape following tan inmate testing positive for COVID-19.
