Fuel bowser and a lorry collide on the Southern Expressway

A lorry transporting fuel collided with a Bowser lorry, disrupting traffic on the Southern Expressway towards Matara for nearly eight hours.

The accident has reportedly taken place between the Gelanigama and Dodangoda interchanges.

The fuel bowser collided with the back of a lorry parked on the side of the road.

The driver of the lorry and another person in the passenger seat of the Bowser lorry were seriously injured in the collision and were admitted to hospital.
