From Australia to Sri Lanka, a multi-day fishing vessel monitoring system.

Sri Lanka acquired a multi-day fishing vessel surveillance system from Australia as part of a financial grant to help safeguard marine security. The surveillance system, according to Australian High Commissioner David Holly, will contribute to combating illicit fishing, guaranteeing border protection and security in the Indian Ocean Region, preventing human and drug trafficking, and saving fishermen in danger.
The monitoring system, which includes 4,200 transponders, monitoring center technology, and satellite facilities, is worth 5.38 million Australian dollars.
The Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources will be in charge of the monitoring center.
