CBK not invited for SLFP meeting

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga has said the SLFP All Island Working Committee convened by General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara is against the constitution of the party.

 

CBK has asked Dayasiri Jayasekara to cancel the meeting but insiders say that the meeting may happen as scheduled on April 5th.

 

CBK is patron of the party and she points out that neither she or the majority, who were eligible for the membership of the working committee according to clause nine of the party constitution, have also not been invited to the scheduled meeting and thus the meeting is irregular.

 

The former President has had to face difficult times prior to this when she has participated in SLFP meetings uninvited.
