Is it safe to adopt animals with kids? Yes, they avoid food allergies!

A study reveals a surprising interconnection between pets and food allergies in children. A Japanese study published in the specialized journal PLOS One found that contacts with a pet tend to limit the risk of food allergies in children. The benefits of having a pet are beyond the count since they help children reduce stress and encourage them to exert themselves.

Keeping domestic pets, especially 4-legged friends has shown positive results in child-care since they protect children from certain diseases. This is particularly the case of Crohn’s disease for children living with a dog. But growing up with a dog or a cat would have another unusual virtue on the health of the youngest.

The conclusion of the research studies based on the link between contact with an animal and the development of food allergies in children was ultimately surprising.
