Working mother & breastfeed

Working mother & breastfeed

From the moment an infant is born, the baby grows out of the mother's breast milk. It is a divine medicine for the child. It is very difficult for a mother to leave her newborn baby and go to work. Most mothers who have experienced this painful experience know on how that is. Today in this article we will discuss on how a working mother should breastfeed her baby. Although many mothers get their babies used to giving milk at this stage, it is a foolish act by a mother.

Breastfeeding is one of the most important factors in a baby's mental and physical development. Therefore, work should never be a barrier to breastfeeding. Never try to give powdered milk to your baby. But in order to do so, a mother must follow the correct course of action. You can also seek the assistance of your Family Health Service Officer in this regard and they will give you all the advice that you need. A working mother should keep breastfeed milk for her baby while away from home and gradually accustom him to semi-solid foods after 4 months. It is also important to keep breast milk at a suitable temperature.

How to store the milk?

It can be stored for 6 hours at room temperature, 24 hours in the lower part of the refrigerator, up to 3 months in the deep freezer. It is essential that caregivers have a good understanding of how to properly preserve the breast milk and how to give it to the baby when it is needed.

The bottke of milk should be dipped in lukewarm water and heated to room temperature for the baby to drink. Breast milk should never be heated by keeping it on a stove. It will lose all the nutrients in breast milk. Also, remember that only the amount of milk that the baby needs at a time should be stored in separate bottles, and that once left over, the remaining milk should never be refrigerated again.

Milk can be stored in seperate bottles but should never be given to the baby using bottles. This is because the baby can easily suckle from the bottle at once, and the baby quickly becomes accustomed to the bottle. And as the milk does not come from the mother's breast easily as like in bottle. It may also cause baby to stop drinking mothers milk. So always, use a clean white steel spoon and cup to give the baby the milk. These spoons and cups should always be kept clean, sterilized in boiling hot water, dried and stored in a clean place. It is very important to feed liquid foods using spoon, even when giving extra food.
