CSE ends week with over 4% gain amidst renewed investor interest

CSE ends week with over 4% gain amidst renewed investor interest

The Colombo stock market experienced strong investor interest, leading to a 4% gain in the ASPI and a 4.03% gain in the S&P SL20 index during the week. 

 

 

The bullish momentum continued for 15 consecutive sessions, driven by various companies' positive performances. SAMP, CICN, CICX, LIOC, FCT, CFVF, and DIST were among the top gainers, while SCAP, UBC, AAIC, and HAYL closed in the red. 

 

 

The daily turnover averaged Rs. 3,666 million, improving from the previous week. Foreign investors recorded a net outflow, with DFCC.N experiencing net buying and LIOC witnessing net selling. 

 

 

The banking and materials sectors contributed significantly to the market turnover, with DFCC Bank and Sampath Bank leading the way in the banking sector. CIC Holdings voting and nonvoting shares were the key contributors in the materials sector. 

 

 

Other companies like John Keells Holdings also attracted investor interest.
