‘Bankruptcy’

The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to investigate the causes of economic bankruptcy in the country is scheduled for its inaugural meeting today (18).

However, there needs to be more certainty about the participation of Opposition Parliamentarians in the PSC. The PSC's composition and appointing a ruling party MP as its Chairman have been criticized by opposition parties, leading some members to boycott the committee.

The PSC's formation has been controversial, and some opposition MPs question their involvement. The TNA MP has yet to decide whether to participate or not.

The PSC is expected to examine the economic crisis during the previous government's tenure, and its findings may shed light on the reasons behind the financial difficulties in the country.
