The World Bank stands ready to support VP Martin Raiser assures President Wickremesinghe

World Bank's Vice President for the South Asia region, Martin Raiser, met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe on July 17. The meeting focused on discussing the progress made in debt management and implementing reforms to encourage private investment, which the World Bank believes is crucial for Sri Lanka's economic recovery. 

 

 

VP Raiser highlighted the importance of the upcoming months, recognizing the critical juncture the country is facing. He assured President Wickremesinghe that the World Bank is ready to support Sri Lanka in addressing its economic challenges and promoting sustainable growth. 

 

 

As VP for South Asia, Raiser oversees the World Bank's operations and initiatives in countries within this region, including Sri Lanka.
