Antarctica is collapsing! Predictions of major global threats!

The oceans are collapsing! A study by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia revealed has found that this decline can threaten to seize circulation in the depths of the ocean. In Antarctica, the water is getting cool and sinking into deeper layers. When it sinks it results in generating a flow of energy, carbon, oxygen and nutrients for the entire globe. The phenomenon is able to influence everything from marine ecosystems to global climate. Scientists say the continuation of global carbon emissions at the current rate can decrease sea currents by more than 40% over the next 30 years. Annually, 250,000 million tonnes of cold, salty, oxygen-rich water sink into Antarctica and this water is capable of carrying oxygen to the depths of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

The data shows that deep ocean current has remained stagnant for thousands of years. However, it will slow down in the coming decades owing to the increasing greenhouse emissions. Melting ice around Antarctica has become the main cause of this phenomenon. The deep ocean current collapsing would stop the oceans below 400 meters would simply terminate their movements and enter a state of stagnation. Due to this phenomenon, the deep ocean water will get warm and it will end up in a mass extinction in the oceans and a profound change in the global climate.
