Namal urges President to declare programme for drought-hit people

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his Cabinet to announce a government program to provide relief to people affected by the ongoing drought and those in need of water for cultivation. 

 

 

Speaking at a meeting of his party's electoral organization, Rajapaksa emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges of the prolonged dry spell, which has particularly impacted farmers in several provinces. 

 

 

He also urged cooperation among political parties, suggesting that the opposition parties should work together to tackle water management, power generation, and agricultural productivity issues.
