Minimum wage increased - inflation up

The Sri Lankan labour force will benefit from increase  of the monthly minimum wage by 12.5 percent and stipulated daily minimum wage.

 

The  new monthly wage will be 12,500 rupees and the daily wage would be 500 rupees.

 

Sri Lanka’s 12-month consumer price inflation accelerated to 4.1 percent in March 2021 from 3.3 percent in February.
