The largest consignment of vaccines received by Sri Lanka will arrive in the island today

Today, Sri Lanka is set to receive 16 million doses of Chinese-made sinopharm vaccine, the largest single vaccine donation ever received by Sri Lanka.

16 million syringes required for injection have also been donated and the consignment will be brought to Sri Lanka by two SriLankan Airlines aircraft this morning.

China has donated 11 million doses of sinopharm vaccine to Sri Lanka on two previous occasions.
