Tense situation at Mrs. Sri Lanka World pageant - crown removed from winner

A tense situation has been reported at the Mrs. World Sri Lanka pageant held in Colombo on April 4 where the Winner's crown was removed by Mrs. World 2020 and outgoing Mrs. Sri Lanka, Caroline Jurie.

Contestant number 20 was chosen by the panel of judges as the winner of Mrs. Sril Lanka for Mrs. World where she was crowned by Caroline Jurie and congratulated by the Chief Guest, Shiranthi Rajapaksa.

 

As the crowning was taking place, several concerns were raised from a number of invitees at the event claiming that the  winner was divorced.

 

Follwoing this, Caroline Jurie announced that the winner cannot be divorced, removed the crown from the winner on stage and crowned the first-runner up as the new winner.
