The spokesperson of the Government Medical Officers Association has complained against the Director-General of standards on her qualifications and her recent controversial statement on the inability to act against coconut oil adulterates.

 

Dr Sarath Ananda said that kitchen oil s been imported from Singapoore and it’s released to the market. Red oil is another product that is used to color tiles is also released to the market.

 

Dr Ananda said that the assets of the Sri lanka Standards institute need to verify and the moment they are collecting information. The spokesman of the GMOA said that the market is flooded with food items that create cancer.. Dr Sarath Ananda said that a number of state institutions such as the customs, consumer protection authority, and police have failed the customer.
