Request to the Secretary to the President to inquire into the media report on fertilizer imports

A statement issued by the Presidential Media Unit on Saturday (Oct. 23) stated that the IGP has been directed to summon all relevant parties and conduct a formal and detailed investigation.

 

The government had credited Rs. 290 million to a personal account in the People's Bank as a payment to the company in charge of importing nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer from India.

 

It further alleged that Rs. 290 million had been credited to a joint account opened on October 18 under the names of two persons, but that Rs. 90 million had been spent on the importation of the stock of nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer.
