Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa directs officials to select suitable land to bury the remains of Covid-19 victims
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the officials to find a plot of dry land with deep groundwater level under the instructions provided by the health authorities to bury the remains of the victims of COVID-19.
The above directions were given during a special discussion held at the Prime Minister’s Office December 10.
Prime Minister has been informed by the health authorities that the virus can last for about 36 days in the body of COVID-19 victim.
Furthermore, he stressed that the decisions in relation to health cannot be reached based on one's religious beliefs or ethnicity.
