Pegasus spy software to search Indian information

Forensic tests have confirmed that the Pegasus spy software was used to search for information about Indian journalists and activists.


Indian Ministers, Government Officials, Leaders of Opposition, Reporters and Writers of Hindustan Times, The Hindu India Today, Indian Express, Network 18, The Vijay Bureau, Vijayatha Singh, Shishir Gupta, Siddharth Vardarajan, MK Venu, Sushant Singh The phones of Rohini Singh, Muzammil Jalil, Hrithika Chopra and Swathi Chaturvedi have been compromised by the spyware.


The Pegasus software is used to steal data from phones running on Android and iOS systems and is sold to governments around the world by the NSO group, an Israeli company.


Seventeen international media groups, including the Guardian and the Washington Post, have led the investigation into how the information was obtained.
