One million rupees compensation from the police for the victim who was arrested by mistake

The Supreme Court has ordered the Anuradhapura Police to pay Rs. 1 million as compensation to two police officers attached to the Anuradhapura Crime Investigation Division for injuries sustained in the arrest and torture of a motorcyclist.

 

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court further observed that the court does not accept the government's responsibility for violations of the fundamental rights of the petitioner as it is its opinion in the MLR report and reports issued by Police Sergeant Wijesinghe and Judge Thurairajah.

 

The Supreme Court further stated that the recount of the petitioner's cases is confirmed by the affidavits of his parents and the medical records.

 

Arms and upper limbs. The MLR strongly confirms that the petitioner was suspended for a considerable period of time due to injuries to the upper part of the body including the neck.
