The All Ceylon Dairy Farmers' Federation is demanding an increase of at least Rs. 120 per 1 Lt. milk

The All Ceylon Dairy Farmers' Federation is inrequesting a minimum of Rs.120 price hike for one litre of milk, National Centre for the Protection of Dairy Farmers Susantha Kumara Navaratne said.

 

He said the profit received by milk powder companies after increasing their prices is not shared with the dairy farmers.

 

This difficulty has been faced by the 400,000 strong dairy farmers across the country, Mr. Navaratne said.

 

At present, the farmers are getting between Rs. 80 and Rs. 100 per litre of milk, Mr. Navaratne added.
