Jagath Samarawickrema sworn in to fill the vacancy left by the late MP Amarakeerthi

Polonnaruwa District Representative of the Sri Lanka People's Front Jagath Samarawickrema has been sworn in as a Member of Parliament.

He was sworn in before Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday morning (May 19).

The appointment was made to fill the vacancy created by the assassination of Amarakeerthi Athukorala, a Member of Parliament who was assassinated in Nittambuwa on May 09.
