Hospital junior staff on trade union action today and tomorrow

The General Secretary of the United Health Workers Union Ven. Tampitiye Sugathananda Thero said that the hospital junior staff will be on sick leave today and tomorrow due to 10 demands such as transfers, increase in the uniform allowance to Rs. 15,000 and increase the special allowance to Rs. 7,000 per month. And is engaged in a professional action.

The strike will not affect hospitals in the Northern Province, Polonnaruwa, Chilaw, Trincomalee and Batticaloa Teaching Hospitals.

Ven. Sugathananda Thero stated that the necessary support will be provided to maintain the essential services in the corona wards and hospitals.
