Eleven Muslim organizations banned

Eleven Muslim organizations banned

 Eleven Muslim organizations suspected to have links with extremist acts have been banned by an extraordinary gazette notification declared on the 13 th of April. Attorney General Dappula de Livera had authorized the proscription of eleven organizations under the Prevention of Terrorism act.

 

Accordingly A person shall not, within or outside Sri Lanka-be a member or cadre or provide leadership to wear, display, hoist or possess the uniform, dress, symbol, emblem, or flag of these organizations. It is also an offence to summon, convene, conduct or take part in meetings, obtain membership or join these organizations.
There are many more restrictions that prevent  

 

Harbouring , concealing and assisting members.

1.United Thawheed (Thowheedh) Jamma’ath (UTJ)
2.Ceylon Thawheed (Thowheedh) Jamma’ath
3.Sri Lanka Thawheed (Thowheedh) Jamma’ath
4.All Ceylon Thawheed (Thowheedh) Jamma’ath 5.Jamiyathul Ansaari Sunnathul Mohomadiya
6.Dharul Adhar
7.Sri Lanka Islamic Student Movement (SLISM)
8.Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)
9.AL – Qaeda
10.Save the Pearls
11 .Super Muslim
