During the long weekend, special police Covid actions will take place.

In light of the forthcoming holiday weekend, the police will conduct enhanced quarantine operations.

 

Senior Deputy Inspector General (SDIG) Ajith Rohana,  said that during this time, special roadblocks will be set up at the Western Province's entry/exit points as well as the entry points of other districts.

 

Only essential services personnel are exempt from the inter-provincial travel ban. According to him, people can only travel borders for medical treatment or to attend the funerals of close relatives.
