CEB warns of a strike similar to the 1996 strike

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) United Trade Union Alliance today warned that there would be trade union action on November 3 similar to the 72-hour trade union action experienced in 1996.

 

In 1996, the CEB trade union launched a 72-hour strike.

 

After the decision on Saturday, our trade union action might be similar to the one in 1996, Mr. Jayalal added.
