500 million LinkedIn accounts leaked - Valuable LinkedIn data is now on sale

A massive investigation is underway to find out how publicly viewable member profiles have been scraped and posted for sale. According to  LinkedIn the information on  sale is a collection of data from a number of websites and companies.

 

CyberNews had reported on April 6 that an archive of data scraped from 500 million LinkedIn profiles was put for sale on a popular hacker forum. Based on the samples seen by cyber security  experts  of leaked files, they appear to contain a variety of mostly professional information from LinkedIn profiles, including:

 

LinkedIn IDs
Full names
Email addresses
Phone numbers
Genders
Links to LinkedIn profiles
Links to other social media profiles
Professional titles and other work-related data
The LinkedIn leak comes just after the massive Facebook leak.
Unfortunately, the users will not know if their data is hacked or not as linked in and Facebook wants to push the matter under the carpet.
