Custard candy

Custard candy

Today we bring you a luscious Yema or as we call it the custard candy recipe. Made from condensed milk and egg yolks. An instant and superb sweet among children and grown ups alike. this recipe can serve 2 - 4 people.

What you need,

* 3 egg yolks

* 1 small tin of condensed milk

* 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter

* 3 tablespoons of peanuts, finely chopped

How to prepare,

First of all we must melt the butter in a saucepan over a medium heat. Then add the can of condensed milk into the saucepan and cook for a couple of minutes or so, while stirring frequently. Whisk or beat in the egg yolks and continue to simmer for another 2 minutes without failing to stir. add in the chopped peanuts and heat the mixture again for at least 20 minutes or until it turns thick. As soon as the mixture nearly reaches the desired thickens consistency, reduce the heat to low.

Remove from the heat and set it aside to cool. As soon as the mixture reaches room temperature, take a spoonful on to your palm and roll it into a small ball. Make the remaining candies in the same way. Place each of the candies in a small cup or arrange them on a plate. Serve and have a taste!
