Adani Group denies allegations against Gautam Adani

The Adani Group has denied the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission, in its indictment against Gautam Adani and seven others, calling the charges “baseless”.

 

Issuing a statement, the Adani Group wrote, “As stated by the US Department of Justice itself, "the charges in the indictment are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty" All possible legal recourse will be sought."

 

International media reported on Thursday, that Adani, "who is one of the world's richest people had duped investors by concealing that his company's huge solar energy project on the subcontinent was being facilitated by an alleged $265 million bribery scheme.
