E-NIC by this year

Commissioner General of the Department for Registration of Persons (DRP) G. Pradeep Saputhanthri said they are to introduce the electronic National Identity Card (e-nic) for people within this year.

 

He said preliminary activities relating to the introduction of the facilities and infrastructure facilities will be underway.

 

However, by June this year, the DRP is hoping to collect public data relating to biometric and facial identifications through all the District Secretariates in the country.
