Dayasiri, Handunetti engage in verbal battle in Parliament

 SJB MP Dayasiri Jayasekara and Minister of Industries Sunil Handunetti engaged in a verbal battle in Parliament during the oral question session.

 

The battle broke out when Minister Handunetti accused MP Jayasekara of giving instructions to the Speaker.

 

The issue arose after the Speaker advised Jayasekara to direct supplementary questions based on the original question.

 

"I did not instruct the Speaker. People such as Handunetti, who raised questions at will while in the Opposition, cannot forget how they behaved in Parliament when they were in the Opposition," Jayasekara replied.
