Tiran Alles and three other defendants in RADA case discharged

Ex-Chairman of Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA), Tiran Alles and three other defendants were released from indictments in the 200 million LKR fraud case. 

 

Colombo High Court Judge Pradeep Hettiarachchi delivered the order after taking the submission made by the Attorney General in to account, the case against the four defendants will not be carried forward.

 

The Attorney General had filed the case against the four defendents; former Chairman of RADA Tiran Alles, former Chief Operations Officer of RADA Saliya Wickramasuriya, former senior LTTE leader Emil Kanthan and Jayantha Dias Samarasinghe for several indictments including the alleged misappropriation of  Rs. 200 million of funds provided by the treasury to the RADA , to establish houses to the people who were displaced by the Tsunami disaster in the year 2004, in the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka.
